Abstract: The top quark, as the heaviest known elementary particle, plays a crucial role in testing electroweak symmetry breaking due to its strong coupling to Higgs boson. In this talk, I will first discuss the infrared singularities of QCD scattering amplitudes with massive partons. A novel method to regularize the infrared singularities of correlators of Wilson line operators will be presented. Next, I will discuss the soft-gluon corrections to top quark pair production, and their impact on various observables measured in hadron collisions. The results are essential to improve the theoretical precision for top quark production in association with electroweak bosons at the LHC.
